JEM Nobletts
Noblettes, near Woodland, UT, about 25 miles northerly of Heber City, UT: While mostly hidden by the snow, there is a creek in this photo which is only visible by peering down into the cracks of snow. The “knobs” of snow are derived from heavy deep snow piling on top of the bushes. Snowshoeing on this date found that the Noblettes trail was under 3 to 4 feet of heavy, melting snow and snow shoes sunk down 2 to 3 feet, making travel nearly impossible. However, the cool winter scene, with spring sunshine, caused this scene to glisten with snow on bush and tree, making it all worth while to hike as far as feasible to view the winter wonderland. Noblettes is next to a snowmobile area, yet snowmobilers could not drive on this very narrow trail, leaving the hiking area in pristine condition, where the beauty was unmarred.
