Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, N.C.
In 1999, the Cape Hatteras Light Station was moved 2,900 feet southwest, placing the lighthouse 1,600 feet from the ocean's edge. The relocation project was named the 2000 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The light station is now a National Historic Landmark. Today, visitors come from all around the world to see "America's Lighthouse." Its rugged, granite-stepped plinths and quoins as well as its red brick foundation along with its black and white spiral bands are recognized worldwide. This print is offered in both horizontal and vertical formats.
