JEM Alpine Loop Autumn Colors

The above loop road crosses a lower range of the scenic Wasatch Mountains between Provo and American Fork Canyons. On this late summer day, at such a high elevation (about 8,000 feet), the early frost has touched these deciduous trees and induced the red, yellow and orange autumn colors to shine forth. The Alpine Highway is driven by tens of thousands of sight seers every fall, as most of the 25-mile loop blazes just as in this photo.
