JEM Reflections on Red Fleet Reservoir

DESCRIPTION: Red Fleet Reservoir, north of Vernal, Utah: Your first look at this photo might lead you to believe that you are looking at a close up of a segment of a snake. Without anything in the foreground to create a distance perspective, it may be difficult to tell that you are looking at some distance across Red Fleet Reservoir, and that the opposite side, reflected so perfectly on the very still surface of the water, is perhaps as much as three quarters of a mile away. Upon observing the scenic red rock on the opposite shoreline, it is apparent where the name “red” comes from.
