JEM Winter Ice and Clouds

DESCRIPTION: Deer Creek Reservoir, Utah: Barbara and Jon snow shoed on the path on the lower right in this photo. Temperatures were in the high teens Fahrenheit, which required they protect the digital camera battery by placing it in a pants pocket, where body temperature kept the battery power from draining. The reservoir was beginning to show lots of ice on the surface. Even though it is only 3 pm in the afternoon, as these dark scenic clouds rolled in, it seemed to be much later in the evening due to the cloud thickness blocking the sunlight. There is some blue sky visible and, mixed with such dark clouds, it brought about an awesome disposition to the whole area.
