Statue of Liberty
This photograph was taken on November 11th, 2001 off of the tip of Manhattan Island at Battery Park facing the Statue of Liberty. The statue is a faint figure in the distance of this photograph which is framed by the direction of the dock and accentuated by the glare of the sun. It was taken after a visit to the world trade center destruction and represents the sorrow of the freedom that felt very distant within the grief of those we lost. Also notice the bird on the right hand side of the photograph sitting on a solid foundation but momentarily resting in reflection.
