This is #38 in a series of close-up photographs of weathered posts discovered along a mountainous highway in Arizona in June of 2006. Sizes above 14 inches in the long dimension are recommended for images in this series in order to experience the rich texture and detail that mother nature exhibits. The viewer can then better appreciate the changes, both subtle, and also stark, in the transitions from light areas to dark, and muted tones to bright colors.
