A large lumbering bull moose plodding through a freezing mountain creek on a snowy day, 2006
Plodding: “To move or walk heavily or laboriously; trudge; To work or act perseveringly or monotonously; drudge; The act of moving or walking heavily and slowly; The sound made by a heavy step.” (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=plodding) No matter how you look at it, plodding is revolting development and only done when there’s nothing else we can do about it. If you’ve ever been hiking through the great outdoors in bad weather you know what it means to plod. If you’ve ever held a steady job for any length of time you’ve spent some time plodding. Actually, when it’s all said and done, a large part of our existence is spent plodding. Those who have character can plod well. Take this perservearing moose for example, he’s got character. In spite of the cold, the snow, the freezing creek, he just keeps on keeping on – now that’s a picture of fortitude if I’ve ever seen one.
