This is the first in a series of photographs taken at what is called a "slot canyon." In this piece, the forms of nature have been reduced almost to an abstraction; the photograph captures one section of the canyon so that it is nothing but striations of flowing color. The texture and shape of this natural form comes from erosion over time due to wind and water.
