A dark chesnut-brown horse grazes on grass in the center of a field. The horse is at the center of the piece, with the background composed of several bands of color and texture; as you follow the textures from the bottom to the top, the become more and more complex. The green of the freshly cut grass gives way to the bobbing heads of a field of bluebonnets, which then gives way to the twisting, shaded trunks of a line of trees.
