Billington, Robert
Billington, Robert – Since receiving my first Kodak Brownie camera as a small child I have been the official family photographer. Although most of my photographs have been of the “capturing family history” form I have always had the urge to produce “art” as well. In the late ‘70s and early ‘80s I built a darkroom and experimented with both black and white and color film developing, printing and alternative chemical and printing processes with the goal of producing artistic images. Time pressures from career and family prevented continuing that work and it is only now, with the maturing of digital technology, that I have had the opportunity to again do photographs that are more than snapshots. Living in a fantastically beautiful portion of Colorado I am now beginning to make images both of nature and of a more abstract sort. Most of the images I will display here are those that are already on my own walls and I hope others will enjoy them as much as I have.
