Printing (top)
All of our prints are produced by Epson 9600 inkjet printers,
which are considered the industry standard for
professional-quality digital printing applications. This
is the same model currently being used in the print shops of
major fine art museums and by professional artists working in
digital media. Our prints are produced on luster paper for
long-lasting, fade-resistant results. The choice of adding
a laminate to your print will further enhance the life of your
purchase.
Mats (top)
All of our paper mats ("rag mats") are supplied by Crescent Cardboard
Company, L.L.C. We offer only the highest quality materials that will
ensure a long life for your prints and the composition as a whole. We
currently offer the following types of rag mats:
- Antiquarian Mat - Natural cream cotton cores and matching cream backing
paper designed to complement antique prints, photographs and papers.
- Conservation Board - Fade resistant, bleed resistant, pigment colored
surface papers on 100% cotton core and backing paper.
- Museum Mat - Solid color 100% cotton fiber, 100% lignin and speck free. Unless otherwise noted, buffered with calcium carbonate to prevent damage to
the artwork.
Moulding (top)
Our customers have the option of choosing from our selection of either wood
or metal frames. Our wood frames are custom cut, and come in a range of
materials including cherry, oak, walnut, mahogany or ash. Our metal frames
are coated with various textured finishes that give your framed composition a
professional look.
Finishes (top)
- Linen Finish Guard - Finish guard laminates are an elegant
alternative to glass, used to permanently preserve and beautify posters, graphics, photos, prints, portraits, reporductions and other artwork. Their low bonding temperature (185 degrees F) make these
laminates ideal for the high-resolution ink jet prints produced by this
company. These laminates provide UV protection and unlike glass, are
lightweight and will not break. Bienfang Finish Guard UV Laminating Films shield framing and mounting projects against the damage that can be caused by ultraviolet rays. The films are coated on one side with a permanent adhesive that bonds when heated to provide a durable and lightweight alternative to glass. Three distinct finishes let you customize the end result to meet your framing needs. Lustre offers a semi-gloss finish that reduces glare and reflection. Canvas resembles the rich texture of artist's canvas with a soft sheen and Linen adds a light textural surface, also with a soft sheen.
- Acrylic (plexiglass) is available as a substitute for real glass. It has the same rigidity as glass, but is lighter and not breakable. Our acrylic is available in clear and non-glare versions.
Backing (top)
All framed prints are backed with 3/16" archival foam core. This
acid-free board ensures the strength of the overall composition, and preserves
the beauty of the print over time. The cost of the backing is included in
the cost of the frame.
