The Online Frame Shop at DPPF allows you to see the finished product exactly as it will look hanging on your wall. NOTE THAT THE ACTUAL PRINTED IMAGE WILL POSSESS MUCH GREATER SHARPNESS THAN WHAT YOU SEE ON THE SCREEN. In order to reduce refresh time for your screen over the internet, DPPF scales down file sizes and hence, resolution.

It is great fun to manipulate thousands of combinations of frames and mats around your choice of pictures. It is amazing to witness the transformation to your picture by changing out the mats and frames. Incredibly, you will be able to maintain the exact proportionality of picture to mat to frame as you re-size either the image or the mat exposure. You can then set your own wall color behind the finished product and click to zoom it to fill your computer screen! It is our specialty to allow totally customized products. As far as we know, we are the only site that can give you such customization and accuracy in visualizing the finished product. Here's how it works:

STEP ONE: Select a picture from our Store (or upload your own)

Once having selected the "See it framed" option, select the size for your picture from the "Print Dimensions" heading near the upper left of the page. Note that changing either the Height or Width from their respective scroll bars automatically adjusts the other of the two, maintaining the same proportions. The "Final Dimensions", which take into account any frames and mats, is constanly adjusted and appears to the right of "Print Dimensions" above the product image.

STEP TWO: Selecting Your Frame

Using its scroll button, choose from over 250 different mouldings (frames) and select from these categories: Blacks, Dark Wood, Gold, Gold Ornate, Gray, Light Wood, Mahogany, Metals, Silver Ornate, Walnut, or Whites/Creams. Clicking on a moulding image will INSTANTLY change the frame around the print.

STEP THREE: Selecting your Matting

Selecting the matting is very similar to choosing the moulding (frame). Choose from over 100 different colors, such as Blacks, Blues, Browns, Grays, Greens, Purples, Reds/Pinks, Whites/Creams, Yellows/Golds. Note that for the top mat only, you may click inside the "Top Mat Exposure" box and change its size as desired. Tabbing out of the box will then instantly adjust the image as well as the "Final Dimensions". In the "Mat Configuration" scroll box, you may change from a single mat option ("Top mat only") to as many as three total mats. Each mat below the top mat will have a one-quarter inch exposure. Opting for "Top and bottom mats" creates beneath that box a new tab for "Bottom", which can in turn be clicked in order to select matting for that level. Likewise, selecting "Top, middle, and bottom" reveals a "Middle" tab that also needs clicking and selecting as before. YOUR FINAL PRODUCT DIMENSIONS ARE RE-CALCULATED AS YOU GO!

STEP FOUR: Selecting a Picture Glaze

Choose something to cover your masterpiece by clicking on the "Glazes" button. Choose clear or non-glare acrylic (similar to glass, but not breakable), or our favorite option, the laminate. The regular Finish Guard laminate film protects your image from ultra-violet rays, dust, and moisture. Our Deluxe Finish Guard covers the matting too. Either choice comes with a canvas or a linen texture. Of course, you don't have to select any glazing. The choice is yours!

STEP FIVE: Preview Final Print (... on your wall)

Finally, don't forget to see the full impact of your work by placing the expected wall color behind the product and zooming the finished combination to fill your computer screen! Click on the "set wall color" button above your picture to select from a wide palette of colors. Then click the "zoom in" button to fill your screen with the final product. If you are satisfied, click the "zoom out" button, add it to your cart, and proceed to checkout!
